What's Your ROI on Remodels or Additions Around the San Mateo Area?Leave a comment »
So, you're looking at that house for the third time and saying, 'it's not quite right." It needs a new.... And, then you ask me what does it cost to do....? You get the idea. Whether it's a new kitchen, windows, bathroom, roof or an addition to make the house perfect for you and your family, you need to have an idea of cost. And then, what your ROI might be. http://www.wilkasgroup.com/003D3C Posted on 2008-07-01 @ 7.10:07 pm by Lenore Wilkas

Foster City Market Update 6.20.08
Foster City, as a planned community, has single family homes, townhouses and Condos circling the city. [There are loads of apartments, too, but we're only talking what's for sale here.] The single family home market is so different from the condo market it's like being in two different cities. I'll talk first about single family homes, then the condos. Last week we saw 34 homes for sale compared to today with 28. The Median price was $1,166,000. The Average price was $1,190,095. If you could find it, the least expensive home was listed for $865,000. Today there's one for $868,000 - a steal for Foster City. Prices have been trending up, but the price per square foot has moved down, along with the average days on the market. Inventory was up last week, and my guess is that Altos Research's report for this week will show it down. http://www.wilkasgroup.com/003B85 Posted on 2008-06-20 @ 5.07:51 pm by Lenore Wilkas

San Mateo's Hillsdale High School Shines in the National Spotlight
Bravo Hillsdale High School! San Mateo's gem of a school has been featured in Newsweek talking about a fabulous program that rolled out several years ago and has seen amazing results for the students and teachers. When I am asked about the high schools in San Mateo, locals generally roll their eyes at the thought of buying a house within the Hillsdale district, at least that was then, but not any longer. This high school, who serves students from the southern part of San Mateo and from Foster City, has made such progress in test scores that the entire country is watching and learning about a terrific teaching strategy. When a Freshman starts high school it is generally with trepidation at the thought of getting lost in a big high school. Most of us felt this and is was scary. Hillsdale doesn't let this happen because they have totally redesigned how the school works and it isn't in the usual way with 30+ kids in a class and the kids taking 7 classes per day. http://www.wilkasgroup.com/003972 Posted on 2008-06-05 @ 10.44:30 pm by Lenore Wilkas
